Frequently Asked Questions

vocal coaching

  • Of course! Anyone can learn to sing. I customize your lessons to meet you where you are. We can start with simple ear training and pitch matching and go from there.

  • It depends on what you are looking for. I often teach some basic music theory (basic sight reading, understanding of pitch and rhythm), as it can be necessary to know these things. If you are not interested in that, I can focus solely on developing your instrument.

  • Not true. There are certainly aspects of classical training that carry over to any style (breath support, good posture, etc.), but singing non-classical music requires a different set of skills.

  • Absolutely! Your vocal cords are muscles that can become deconditioned like any other muscle in your body. And just like those other muscles, you can get them in good shape again.

  • Don’t give up! You can strengthen your voice and keep singing for the rest of your life. I can help you find your voice again even if it’s been years since you did any singing.
