“I was referred by my doctor to Kristen last December to help me with my voice. I’m 85 years old and my daughters were complaining they couldn’t hear me over the phone. I would start the day with a voice but could barely be heard by the end of the day, The ENT could find no problems with voice and in a last ditch effort sent me to Kristen for speech therapy. She gave me breathing exercises and even had me sing through a straw. I can’t carry a tune in a bucket but suddenly found myself singing all the time. Thank goodness my husband is hard of hearing!
Before long, everyone noticed a difference in my voice and an added benefit to all the exercises is that I also noticed less heartburn symptoms which as a retired nurse, I had not even considered could have contributed to my voice problems.
Kristen was great to work with and I am doing so much better now. I highly recommend her!”

“Kristen Calhoun taught my 10-year-old daughter her very first voice lessons, and we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to singing. Kristen was patient, enthusiastic, and always quick to encourage. She made each lesson fun and approachable while still helping my daughter build solid vocal foundations. I especially appreciated that she recorded voice memos with scales and exercises for us to practice at home—it made progress easy to continue between lessons.
Kristen’s background in speech therapy, combined with her love of music and extensive vocal experience, made her the perfect teacher to start our journey. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, kind, and inspiring voice instructor.”

“Kristen is a very professional person. I could hardly make a clear sound in September of 2025 and now people say I sound like I did before the stroke. Kristen is a very compassionate and positive person. I am truly grateful to Kristen for her hard work. She is not only my speech therapist but a good friend that kept me positive through this whole ordeal. I owe Kristen many thanks for helping me with my voice.”

“I spent several months working with Kristen this past year after having a stroke. I am an active 86 year old and in no way ready to stop. Kristen recognized this and pushed me harder than maybe she would normally do so with someone my age. She was always kind and helpful and her enthusiasm kept me going even when it seemed like I was never going to get better. After working with Kristen, my facial droop from the stroke is no longer noticeable and my speech and voice are stronger. No one would know I’d ever had a stroke.”

“Kristen was not only helpful in getting me to sing on pitch, but she was able to explain the anatomy and inner workings of my vocal cords. Which opened up a whole new way of thinking”
